Crescom Initiates Pediatric Musculoskeletal AI Validation with Mass General Brigham

Crescom, a company specializing in medical AI for musculoskeletal analysis, has launched a global clinical proof of concept (PoC) in partnership with Mass General Brigham's Department of Radiology. This initiative focuses on validating the efficacy of Crescom's pediatric musculoskeletal AI solutions at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), part of the prestigious Mass General Brigham healthcare system.

MGH, along with Brigham and Women's Hospital, ranks highly in global healthcare research according to the Nature Index, making this collaboration notable for Crescom. The study includes three primary AI solutions: MediAI-BA for bone age analysis, MediAI-SG for full lower-limb length measurement, and MediAI-SC for assessing scoliosis severity. MediAI-BA has received FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States.

During this validation study, the radiologists at Mass General Brigham will conduct a comprehensive clinical assessment by comparing AI-generated results with expert clinical interpretations. This process is designed to evaluate both the clinical validity and real-world applicability of the solutions, gathering user feedback to refine the technology and explore potential commercialization in local markets.

Amidst increasing diagnostic challenges, including physician burnout and a shortage of radiologists, this study highlights the growing interest in AI-driven solutions to enhance workflow efficiency in pediatric imaging. Crescom aims to provide objective evidence that its AI technology can improve reading efficiency, which is crucial for the North American healthcare market.

The collaboration is expected to significantly impact Crescom's standing in the North American radiology and pediatric healthcare sectors. This partnership is also seen as a step toward expanding Crescom's footprint into high-value markets such as youth athletic development, where their technology could serve growing demand.

Supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea, Crescom plans to leverage the outcomes of this study to further expand their presence in North America. CEO Jae Joon Lee emphasized the company's strategic focus on growth through this study's results.
