Canon Showcases Portfolio of Solutions at RSNA, Highlighting Delivery of Confidence, Experience, and Efficiency

At booth #6713 and #7313 North Hall, Canon Medical System displays its full array of solutions developed to enhance clinical workflows and patient outcomes across imaging modalities. With a commitment to patient-focused technology, usability, and clinical impact, Canon highlights its areas of expertise to improve the healthcare experience.

Ultrasound

Canon continues to update technology to enhance diagnostic confidence, depth, and detail in ultrasound. Just FDA-cleared, the latest update to the Aplio i-series Prism Edition, version 9 (V9.0), is on display with enhancements that build upon the Prism Editions’ powerful hardware, iBEAM+ beamformer, and Canon’s matrix array transducer technology.

3rd Harmonic Imaging (3-HI), which utilizes ultrasound frequency components at three times the transmitted frequency—extracted by an AI deep learning filter model—provides a “whole new dimension to the imaging,” says Dan Skyba, senior marketing managing director UL BU. “3-HI is the world’s first commercialized AI that targets ultrasound image quality. It adds to the second harmonic images [to] help reduce reverberation artifacts, particularly in hypoechoic structures. It also brings in a lot of spatial resolution in the near field,” he explains, resulting in even higher quality images.

Canon is also showcasing new Superb Micro-vascular Imaging, SMI Angio, a technology that enables sharper depiction of microvascular flow, building upon previous SMI technology.

“By reducing clutter and blooming associated with traditional Doppler modes, SMI Angio gives a higher-order dimension of visualization and separation to the number of microvascular structures seen,” reports Skyba.

Also on display is Canon’s Auto Tune Shear Wave Elastography ultrasound technology, which provides an automated optimization that improves quantitative measures and dynamic visual display of tissue stiffness across clinical settings, including liver, breast lesions, and MSK.

Canon Alphenix 4D CT Insight Edition, which performs a wide range of clinical applications, is on display at RSNA 2025.

Interventional radiology

With a configuration considered to be “the new future for interventional radiology,” the Alphenix 4D CT with Aquilion ONE / INSIGHT Edition, first installed in France and on display at RSNA, combines a single-plane, angio arm and a fully featured CT scanner seamlessly in the same room. Jaimin Chung, marketing managing director IXR/VL BU, explains that both interventional radiology and interventional oncology markets are eager for the one-room solution, which enables every rotation to be a full 16 centimeters for whole-organ coverage.

“Intraprocedurally, the new INSIGHT Edition adds features that are built for expansion into pediatrics, trauma, stroke, cardiology. This platform is now one room seeing endless possibilities,” explains Chung, who emphasizes Canon’s commitment to both high definition and low dose.

CT

In celebrating 50 years of CT innovation, Canon is examining how it will: further enhance its leadership in meaningful AI application, showcase a bold vision of CT in precision imaging, and lead vital transformation through education.

Canon unveils CLEAR Motion powered by Altivity, now commercially available in the U.S., a deep learning reconstruction technology that helps manage patient motion.

The company highlights its vision for “disruptive innovation” in precision medicine, according to Dhruv Mehta, marketing managing director CT BU. “We’re giving the world a glimpse into the future of … precision medicine using some innovative ideas and technologies.

Canon will be hosting more than 10 peer-to-peer events facilitating conversations that encourage new insights and adoption of transformative technologies.

“We continue to shape healthcare to make it more precise, more connected and more human…let’s redefine what the future holds,” Mehta says.

HIT

In light of radiology market consolidation, Canon’s health IT experts are addressing industry trends and how the company can support healthcare leaders through operational challenges, maintaining consistency of protocols and optimizing staff distribution and patient workflows. These AI and automation tools are on display at RSNA.

Remote Assist is “a strong tool to optimize clinical workflows,” according to Julia Albright, marketing managing director enterprise solutions and HIT BU. Other Canon solutions allow customers to scan consistently across multiple locations, standardize protocols, and optimize patient distribution for “better image quality, improved staff efficiency, and higher patient satisfaction,” she says.

Canon also showcases its Vitrea advanced visualization software. “[We can] transform complex imaging data into clear insights for faster and more confident decisions that can be cardiac, neuro, or enterprise-wide visualization. It’s not just software … it's a strategic tool that deepens engagement and enables connected end-to-end workflows.”

MR

After bringing the quiet Vantage Galan 3T Supreme Edition MRI to market this year with a unique approach—key components such as gradients, coils and magnets made in- house—Canon drives vertical integration and a controlled supply chain to benefit customers, with a supporting real-time platform and V10 software package.

Regarding integration of AI technologies in MR scanning and workflows, Mark Totina, marketing managing director MR BU, reports “we love to…. say that our story starts before the patient enters [the exam room] and even after the patient has left.” Tools that support the pathway include: a ceiling camera with deep learning for positioning, AutoScan Assist powered by Altivity, Iterative Motion Correction, and image enhancements through deep learning reconstruction (DLR) technologies. The software is consistent across 3T and Vantage Fortian 1.5T and Vantage Orian 1.5T systems.

“At RSNA, we share this migration of Version 10 from the 3T Supreme to the 1.5 products—zoom diffusion, 4D Flow for cardiac and the PIQE expansion...to multiple sequences and all anatomies,” Totina reports.

Booth representatives are also addressing common MR artifacts and how users can leverage Canon solutions for stronger images and better workflows.

X-ray

Canon showcases the ability of its innovative X-ray portfolio to meet evolving customer needs. A range of systems are displayed, from a floor mount to a U-arm to the completely automatic system in the OMNERA 500A; mobile X-ray systems for demo, the “workhorses” SOLTUS and Mobirex; and its fluoroscopy line, including the recently released Adora DRFi ultimate automated hybrid solution, a robotic system completely tied to two rails, Charles Cassudakis, marketing managing director Xray BU, tells Applied Radiology.

“It’s a pivoting system on two rails…[it allows] our clinicians to focus on the patient so they don't have to worry about the system. It moves where it needs to move.”

The CXDI detectors, boasting high image quality and low dose potential, along with the CXDI Control Software NE, are standard through the product portfolio. Also under the Altivity umbrella, the Clear-IQ Engine with the RSNA-launched Intelligent Noise Reduction Inside (AiCE) demonstrates noise reduction capabilities and high image quality for nuanced interpretation across applications, including pediatrics and bariatrics. Comparative AiCE images will be on display.

Finally, Canon is launching an educational program to help keep techs injury-free called Healthy Radiographer.
